High School Diary - Hector Harold
Let me start out by introducing myself, my name is Hector Harold Jr. and I am originally from the Los Angeles area. Holding it down for the class of 2010! I'm finishing up my last year of high school at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Western Massachusetts. After playing with my longtime AAU coach Robert Icart this summer, I feel like I'm at the top of my game. Ever since I was eleven years old, he has helped me out a lot throughout my basketball career. He has motivated me to be the player I am today, big shout out to him. Now I'm back at school in Massachusetts and I can't wait to get back to the west coast.
I finally committed! The recruiting process could be challenging but it felt good to commit to Pepperdine without any doubts. It’s close to home, they're building their program up, and it’s a great place to go to school. I could have waited for some other schools to pop in, but I had my mind made up after my official visit. Now that I'm signed with Pepperdine, I can just relax and help NMH win a New England Championship.
The season at Northfield is going well so far. We're in one of the toughest basketball leagues in the country, and we're 9-2. I feel like this team can do some damage. This prep school life isn't easy; there's life back at home, hooping, classes, and homework. I've been working it out though; I'm just trying not to catch senioritis. We've got some big games coming up in February, I can't wait to get out there and surprise some people. I’ll let you know how the season plays out next edition.
